Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the major drivers of organizational transformation. At the same time, corporate governance is facing unprecedented challenges linked to the complexity of digital environments and the explosion of data (Weill & Ross, 2019). This convergence between AI and governance creates a new field of inquiry into how companies can strengthen both their performance and legitimacy. The central research problem of this article is to understand how the integration of AI into governance mechanisms can constitute a new pillar of organizational performance. The study explores how embedding AI within data governance frameworks can enhance organizational performance. The methodology relies on a conceptual and forward-looking analysis, drawing on academic literature and proposing measurable indicators to assess data quality, algorithmic explainability, and performance across economic, social, and internal dimensions. The article contributes by offering an integrated conceptual framework in which AI and data governance function as strategic levers of competitiveness, sustainability, and legitimacy, providing executives with tools to anticipate risks and reinforce stakeholder trust.Downloads
